Two Questions. Do You Tell Your Loved One They Have Alzheimers? And Do You Go To THEIR Psychiatrist To Ask Questions?
A myALZteam Member asked a question đź’

I am trying to figure out how to help my mother-in-law who has been with us 2 months.

I need an official diagnosis but would like more details on caregiving and what level she's at, and whether certain meds are affecting her paranoia. Need advice on psychiatric meds, etc. So do I go to appointments using HER insurance? Or go to my own psychiatrist and ask questions about her? (I don't actually have one) How do you manage these things?

And I'm afraid to say to her "you have Alzheimers so I need… read more

Once Confined To Bed How Long Did Your LO Live That Way?
A myALZteam Member asked a question đź’

I haven’t posted in a while. I was living in FL but brought my husband up north in May to be near family. He steadily declined, eventually losing ability to walk etc. He is now completely bedbound. He has that occasional smile or comment that makes me remember how he was. I hate to see him this way. Some days I wish it was over and I feel so guilty for… read more

How Does Statins Use Affect Alzheimers?
A myALZteam Member asked a question đź’

Does anyone have any good information on this? I find conflicting information that I read as if there is a vascular component, avoiding cholesterol based plaques is recommended, but what if there is no heart history and your doctor is keeping his cholesterol really low, around 100? Maybe I'm just grasping at straws.
