Does Anyone Take Notice Of Pronounced Fluctuations In L/O's Vascular Dementia Energy Levels, Appetite, Sleep Pattern, Awareness Level Etc?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My husband's behaviors are totally erratic sometimes 24/7, sometimes within a week, sometimes over a few weeks. I read that this is a sign of degeneration of brain cells and poor vs. good oxygen supply. It is very baffling to live with and witness. I can only describe it to a "layperson" as caffeine vs. decaffeinated behavior.

It helps knowing that I’m not fabricating up and down behavior cycles 🔃 and changes in symptoms.

I Don't Want To Pry Into Anyone's Medical Situation, Could I Ask If Anyone Here Or Knows Of Someone With Alzheimers That Is Not A Diabetic?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

I am reading so much about people who has alzheimers have diabetes and if you control the diabetes then you have a chance of getting rid of alzheimers. This is completely against everything I have learned and did my medical classes report on. I know we all hope there will be a cure. Unfortunately I think research is grasping at air.

How Do You Know When It Is Time To Have Someone Placed In A Care Facility?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Mom still can do her personal care for the most part. She does not use the kitchen anymore, nor does she drive or go anyplace unattended. Her spouse is taking care of her for the most part with help from my sister and myself 3 days a week. Mom is getting very frustrated because we can't always figure out what she is trying to say. She also thinks we are always talking about her or that we are plotting against her. She also believes her husband is fooling around on her. One time said him and… read more

Mommy Doesn't Want Me To Bathe Her Even Though She Is Bedridden.
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

I used to bedbath her about every three days. I give her frequent perineal care, of course, but it's been a week and she refuses to allow me to give her the bed bath . She just doesn't seem to want to be bothered. I have managed to get some CeraVe on her problem skin, but how long can she go on with no bath?
Has this ever happened with you and your bedridden loved one? Mommy can't even sit up on the side of the bed anymore, much less get up.

Repetitive Rejecting Comments And Accusatory Questions.
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

This has been happening for several months . Mum constantly says "I've had enough of that" and also "what are you doing to me now" in a very accusitory manner. Mum even says this when I am not anywhere near her e.g. while I'm washing up dishes in the kitchen. Tonight she was eating pears and custard, feeding herself which she rarely attempts nowand obviously enjoyed them but still kept saying "I've had enough of that" between mouth fulls.

Visit Or Stay Away?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

I am at a loss. Ernie has been having meltdowns whenever I have to leave him at the hospital to go home. Now he is having meltdowns when I come back. Has anyone else had to deal with this type of situation with your loved one and if so, please share what you did. The nurses have a hard time with him when I’m not there because he keeps getting out of bed to go look for me and setting off the alarm.

I wish you both better health so He can get home. You have been a wonderful wife,, taking good care of Him. Make sure you take care of yourself. God bless you both 🙏 ❤️.
