What Is Meant By "ADD PROVIDER"?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

I'm new to myALZteam. In my profile it asks me to "Add Provider". What are you referring to? My PC, my dad's PC? I don't think he sees a Neurologist. (I'll have to check- seems like he should be) !

Garbled Language
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Most evenings, Dad’s words are garbled. He tries to tell us he wants to watch something on TV but we cannot figure out what he wants. He is not good with the remote so he can’t look for what he wants. Is it common for this garbled language to surface in the evenings? I find it strange that Dad can read the paper or part of a book without a problem. Maybe the part of his brain that helps recognize words is not affected by Alzheimer’s. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My Father-in-law Is Not Making Any Sense. He Talks With Regular And Made Up Words All The Time. How Do Other Caregivers Handle This?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

I'm also wondering if this really is "normal" for dementia. All of my dementia information says that people with this disease will sometimes not make sense. However, he is not making sense all of the time. He's seeing things that aren't there and making up words. Just curious as to if anyone else is dealing with this or is this really out of the ordinary. Thanks!

Has Anyone Loved Ones Turned The Lights On In The Middle Of The Night?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Last night and another night, my dad has turned in the bathroom, hall lights and family room lights in the middle of the night. I heard my husband yell at my dad in the middle of the night. I heard my dad go back to his room and I went back to sleep. My husband still works so he didn't get much sleep last night because of this.

I told my dad not to turn the lights except the bathroom light on. He doesn't need to turn the family room light on go to the bathroom.

Does anyone know why they… read more
