My husband's behaviors are totally erratic sometimes 24/7, sometimes within a week, sometimes over a few weeks. I read that this is a sign of degeneration of brain cells and poor vs. good oxygen supply. It is very baffling to live with and witness. I can only describe it to a "layperson" as caffeine vs. decaffeinated behavior.

My mother has Dementia and my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last summer. Is there a way to find out if I have early stage Dementia/Alzheimer's?
My husband also 2014 but he lived till Dec 27,2023 at age 87 he also was on Aricept
What is the difference between vascular dementia and Alzheimer's?

Does anyone have any good information on this? I find conflicting information that I read as if there is a vascular component, avoiding cholesterol based plaques is recommended, but what if there is no heart history and your doctor is keeping his cholesterol really low, around 100? Maybe I'm just grasping at straws.

I am trying to figure out how to help my mother-in-law who has been with us 2 months.
I need an official diagnosis but would like more details on caregiving and what level she's at, and whether certain meds are affecting her paranoia. Need advice on psychiatric meds, etc. So do I go to appointments using HER insurance? Or go to my own psychiatrist and ask questions about her?
