Members rallied around a caregiver whose husband is in the mild to moderate stage of Alzheimer's and experiencing agitation, frustration, and behavioral changes, offering both emotional encouragement and practical guidance. Several members shared that learning about the disease, joining a local Alzheimer's caregiver support group, and getting legal documents like power of attorney in order early can make a big difference. A recurring theme was the importance of not facing this journey alone, with one member sharing a hopeful update that a stay at a behavioral center helped calm her husband's outbursts before returning home with hospice care.

One of the things that has really helped me in caring for my husband who has ALZ is to learn as much as possible about the disease as well as how to manage the behaviors. I found that understanding why he does certain things or doesn't do something was extremely beneficial. You will learn from this group and in addition I suggest you join a local face to face ALZ Caregiver Support Group, you can find one on the National Association of ALZ.

If you haven't already get your financial and medical affairs in order such as power of attorney both financial and medical and advance directives.

Know that you are not alone in dealing with this disease. Sending you hugs!!
