All Alzheimer's is dementia, but not all dementia is Alzheimer's. I don't know what kind of facility your loved one is in, but most facilities that care for Alzheimer patients also care for dementia patients; and regardless of the specific diagnosis a patient may have, they usually offer the same activities to all patients.

However, it might look like different care is being given, because not all patients have the same abilities. Some patients are more physically disabled by their disease; some are more cognitively disabled than others; some may require much more personal assistance than others; some are ambulatory while others are not; some are cognitively unable to participate in activities that others can do; etc. It's a terribly sad disease and can look like it's all over the lot, but that can also be because it ends up being pretty individualized.
