Members shared creative strategies for keeping loved ones with dementia safe from wandering, with the most popular solutions being Ring doorbells to alert when someone steps outside, GPS devices like Jiobit that track location outside WiFi range, and Life360 apps that allow family members to monitor routes and locations in real time. Several members emphasized the importance of layering multiple safety measures, including door alarms, indoor cameras like Wyze that offer affordable motion detection and two-way communication, and small tracking devices like Tile or GPS necklaces attached to ID tags or belt loops with key rings to prevent easy removal. A recurring theme was the relief these tools brought after frightening experiences of loved ones going missing, with members encouraging one another to find systems that balance independence with safety and peace of mind.

Think I'm going with Verizon's gps he can wear around neck. He always keeps his ID around neck.

Cameras are great ! 360 sounds really good too ! I bought a wyze cam for 25.00 off Amazon. Cloud storage , records in light/dark and can send notifications for motion detector plus very simple set up !!!

I have ring doorbell. It goes off when he steps outside so can watch him or catch him.i can go live on my ring and watch that away too. We also have a gps that you can use on wrist or necklace. That helps also. We bought some of them tiles to put on him or in his wallet but we got cheap ones. They went off every time he left room I was in. Hope this helps some.

Hi. You might look into thetileapp.com. I am 82 and Louise is 73 with what is probably early stage AD. Memory short-term usually bad and lots of delusions.
I have about 7 or 8 Tiles. Buy one and fool around with it. You might see a good way to use it. I would, however, have a backup plan. Best of luck to you.
