Why Does My Significant Other Have To Be Told He Smells In Order For Him To Take A Shower And Then He Won't Put On Clean Clothes.

About four months ago he also started wearing his blue jeans and day shirt to bed. I ask him why is he doing this and how can he be comfortable all dressed in bed but he is unable to answer me. It started to be an argument so I just let him sleep in them; I thought it just wasn't worth the fight. He is unable to answer any questions like "how, when where, why or who" his mind can't articulate an answer.

My husband thinks he can wash anything without soap!

I know. My guy will put a shirt on a shirt or underwear over pants. They just have to be redirected. Same thing each day. Like Groundhog Day. Remember that movie?

My husband would sleep in his day clothes or go any place in his pjs. Laying things on the bed in the right order used to work. Now, he doesn't understand on, off or comprehend what body part I am talking about. We would both end up upset. Now, instead of trying to teach, I have started helping him which works if I can control my tone of voice. I tell him it is time for a shower, turn it on and direct him in removing his clothes....so far so good. But, I also have to direct him to use soap and where to wash.

I found it easier to dress hubby in pajamas he usually wore bottoms and a day shirt at home and he had solid color bottoms that he wore in public An aide helped bathe him twice a week and I cleaned him daily and changed his clothes as needed I started helping him when he would forget to use soap. And would want his dirty clothes back on

Just like my other half. He removes the dishes and tells me he washed them by hand and when I watch him he is only using running water and his fingers.
