My husband keeps asking me to take him home and he thinks I'm lying when I tell him he is already home. I don't know how to make him realize where he is. He says that he knows his head is confused but he still wants to go home.
In the head he is a boy now. A child. He wants o go home-to where he was when he was young-with his mum.
Ask him what his home is like, then you have some idea where it is he wants to go. Then perhaps do his room to resemble his bedroom there? Familiar things in another time can be quite comforting, so just talk to him about it, and get a feel of where he is happiest. They seem to remember the past far easier than the present, so this should not be too difficult. They maybe memories that you can share, or you can offer some of your own. I wish you well,
Just say. Hey. We move here now. You didn’t like the other place anymore. You. Like this place so we move here. Then smiles and tell him. Your proud. Of the decision. He made and smiles give him a hug
My Dad always asked to go home which was the house he lived at as a young boy with his parents. After numerous times of saying you are home, I gave up and then arranged a date and time for the next day which he never remembered and did this most days. x
