Yes, there are therapists who specialize in supporting family members of people with Alzheimer's, including adult children navigating this journey. It's completely valid to want someone who truly "gets it."

Lance, I'm from Philly and Penn Medicine, Memory has a guide program that is there for caregivers etc. possibly there could be something familiar in your area. Good Luck
But healthy family members are stressed and at a high risk of illness and mental illness because of the strain of caring for a loved one with dementia. I think your idea of getting a therapist for yourself that better understands your situation is a great one, @A myALZteam Member. Finding one with that focus may be difficult, though.
Frankly, it is the patient who might benefit from a therapist, and not the healthy family members, who are there to offer support to the patient.
