Hey Keith, My husband was diagnosed with MCI,(2018) then Alzheimer's,(2020) then Parkinsonism. (2021). His right side tremor was treated with HIFU: high intensity focused ultrasound. He did get improvement but tremor is coming back. It may also be exacerbated by the cold temps. It truly is a double whammy. Thinking of you and your wife.

I just wanted to tell you that my wife also has the double-whammy: Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. We have not yet needed the apps you mentioned, though.

Have you or your husband tried the Raz Mobility Memory Cell Phone or GrandPad to help with phone difficulties?

Several myALZteam members have shared experiences with the Raz Memory Cell Phone. This phone was designed specifically for people with memory loss and features a single screen with large photos of contacts that can be pressed to make video or personal calls.

Here's what makes the Raz phone helpful:

- Picture dialing with up to 6 photos on the main screen
- Large icons and simple interface
- Emergency call button
- Can be controlled remotely by caregivers
- Can be set to only receive calls from known contacts to prevent scam calls

One member mentioned: "I am looking at the Raz Memory cell phone because he can no longer read the numbers or text. The Raz offers dial by picture."

For someone with both Alzheimer's and difficulty with dexterity (which can happen with Parkinsonism), the large buttons and picture-based system may be easier to use than traditional smartphones. Some members also mentioned that voice activation and motion-activated answering features can help when manual dexterity is challenging.

The phone doesn't have extra features beyond calling, which keeps it simple and less confusing. This streamlined approach can be especially helpful as cognitive abilities change.
