Hi, LindaWoden. You are at the right place to fînd caring people who understand your world. PPA is new to me. From what you described, it sounds like he does have some kind of dementia in addition to his PPA. I am so sorry both of you are going thru this. Hard.
Yes, my husband had this diagnosis as well. I'd be happy to discuss it with you if you need support of just an ear to listen. I know it only too well....it was a difficult journey. I know what you're going through. How long ago was he diagnosed?
@A myALZteam Member: I'm really sorry about the dropped head syndrome. Is he a candidate for a neck brace, to help support the head?
As to the Alzheimer's or Dementia: Did you get a diagnosis, from a Neurologist or Neuropsychologist? Do you know what Stage he's at? I feel that this is absolutely critical for a Caregiver to know -- and the Caregiver is the one who can best determine the Stage her/his loved on is at. Here are two charts that should help you. You stage them where they primarily are.
