We bought a power chair while my husband was still getting out of bed . It could help him get into a standing position or recline into a comfortable position. I had to use the remote though, he could not.

We have recliners with handles, and recently bought a couch with electric buttons that adjust legs and head/neck... If he is on Medicare, they will pay for a recliner that practically stands one up, or sits back down. My mother had one for years.

My husband likes his oversize recliner. Sits in it most of his waking hours. He finds it easy to use the buttons on the side and he can get up easily.

That couch sounds great, Richard. That’s what I want (couch or recliner chair,) when my Alz gets more advanced. I have to show this post to my husband. 🙂

We're La-Z-Boy fans, over here. In our den, we have a 3-seat sofa with a recliner at each end, with push-button electric controls built into the armrest (no remote to lose!) and a 2-seat loveseat with 2 more recliners. My husband watches TV and naps there every day. When my son moved into the facility he lives in, I brought him to the La-Z-Boy store and let him pick out a recliner of his own, for his room.
