We are facing a similar situation. My husband needs a lot of care because he is unable to transfer from his wheelchair to his bed and vice versa. He also needs a lot of extra care that is not associated with his memory problems. We live in an area which is a prime location for retirees, yet retirement homes are not offering care to those who cannot help themselves. How does a person deal with that?

We decided to put Hubby in memory care after all other options failed. It was a hardest decision I made up to that point dealing with his care. Found out the center proved care for people who were able to be up or were in wheel chairs as a means to get around. They could not and did not meet his needs. We were able to find a private home care center that had accommodations for three patients. Best decision I ever made. My prayers for you . Go with your heart. Best of Season 🙏

They wanted to put hubby in a home too. We declined. He passed away not long after. Only you can make that decision. Hard one to make. If he goes in a home they have fresh staff whereas we are doing it around the clock. I know many have promised to not do it. Look within yourself to find the answer. Praying for you. Hugs
