My 80 yr old Mom, with AD lives next to us in a mother in law unit. She recently said I came over and yelled at her and told her that my husband and I wanted her to move out in 3 days. I did not tell her that or yell at her. Now, she is packing and said she is going to leave as soon as she gets her stuff ready. She doesn't believe me and even when I tell her I don't want her to go she is still insistent that she's leaving. Any advice? She has no where to go.

My first thought is let her pack stuff up. It will give her something to do and she has no where to go. Mom packed her little bag all the time to leave but generally got side tracked by our deflection to other things. She cursed, she looked for a phone and help but grew tired. I was the bad guy. The only one that causes her anguish. We had a latch way up high so Mom couldn't escape so she would sit with her little bag ready to go. Mom had a sailor's vocabulary so being around this is mentally draining. I never help. I just made her life miserable. Do what you have to do and don't take anything personal as AD begins to speak loudly on behalf of it's victims. Many blessings to you
