I was thinking of getting the type that has to sit in a charging station overnight as one way of preventing their loss. But that won't guarantee against her taking them out in the daytime and hiding them somewhere. Any suggestions? She can't really hear… read more

I can offer one suggestion. At the end of my moms life she couldn’t talk but she heard me when I said I wish you could squeeze my hand and I know you heard how much I love you. She squeezed my fingers.

I don't know if your mom is still at home but an option might be to help her put her hearing aids in when she dresses in the morning and remove them at night and place them in the charging station out of her reach of course this could become part of her morning routine some one will need to keep an eye out for her to discourage her from removing them during the day

My mom has some I bought her a few years ago and she refuses to wear them. She said they don't work and hurt her ears. So I just put them away.

I would talk to your family Dr I know my husband would just loose them or refuse to wear them. They are use to the way things are. Good luck

I bought my mom hearing aids years ago and she said they hurt her ears. When we speak to her she yells, "I can't hear you"! How is anyone supposed to help someone who does this?
