Hopefully he doesn't aim for the square on the floor (LOL) good luck. Maybe (if he still reads?) A quirky sign over the toilet, like, We Aim To Please, You Aim Too, Please. I don't know. Tongue in cheek humor. Trying to make light of a dark situation. Whatever solution you come up with, good luck to you. He trusts and loves you, to be sure, and probably would be grateful for just a kind nudge in the right direction.
@A myALZteam Member here is a thought. Try putting a piece of colored painter’s tape on the floor near the toilet. You might even tape off a square big enough for him to stand in, and then tell him he needs to have his feet inside square when he is using the toilet. Maybe that would help.
I wonder if floating some colorful cereal bits (like FrootLoops) in the toilet would give him something to "aim for"...? It worked when potty training my young son. Was thinking about doing same for my Dad. He'll go near the toilet, on the toilet, on the floor mat, or even in the trash, but doesnt often go into the toilet, unless reminded. "Sink the Cheerios" is the next step....
Great ideas! I am thankful. My husband has his own bathroom. Makes it easier for the rest of the household. With using old towels there is a lot more laundry, I feel as thou I have small children again 😀. I am going to try tape and see how that works. H has trouble with eye sight. Thanks🤗
My husband has started having trouble buttoning his flannel shirts. I just ordered some long sleeved polo shirts. He is still OK with his jeans and as of now has no bathroom issues.
