Robot Companion Pet
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone purchased the “Joy for all” companion pet? I’m thinking about getting it for my dad. He loves our dog and always had dogs, but he lives alone and when his fish died last week, he has just been so sad. I guess it couldn’t hurt for me to get it. I’m just curious if anyone of you have gotten that or something like it? Thanks!

Hi all. I ended up getting my dad this robot dog and he loves it. It barks quietly and pants and turns it head to the person speaking.

Thanks for this idea. I didn't know there was such a thing. Our children are trying to get me to look into getting a therapy dog for Dad. We do not currently have a pet, but he really enjoys visits with the "granddogs".

A robotic pet wiuld be ideal for dementia patients and many have used them. Its a place for your loved one to extend their affection and they never talk back or criticise anyone. Especially if anyonethat had affection for a pet.... it fills the need without adding the work of caring for a pet. Sounds ideal to me!

Our dogs and cats are what makes my husband happy and keeps him going. He holds them talks to them and sleeps with them. He may call the dog a cat or the cat a dog but they don't care it makes him happy!! And calm

My husband had the “Joy for All” cat and really liked it. He held and talked to it as if it was real. Of course, we had been cat owners and he loved them, so I would imagine if he’s a dog lover, he would likely enjoy the dog. This was my DH & his cat.
