Dogs are worry beads on four legs!! Yes! It will help so much with his well being. Just not a puppy. Perhaps contact a rescue centre where there may be a dog that has been placed due to owners demise? This would be marvellous, and the benefits twofold!! Best of luck!! Big hugs.

How has your husband felt over the past few days? Has he recognized the dog is still gone? It Is so sad when these things affect us and two or three days later they don't remember. If it makes you and the rest of the family happy, I would go with your gut instinct.

You might want to touch base with a "companion dog" training place. You may or may not qualify, but adopting a drop-out still gets you a pretty amazing pet!
