I have that happen constantly. Trips in the car are usually in silence or Kate may comment on how green everything is but it's always that same comment... every day. At meal times I always have the radio on simply so there's some noise because there's no conversation. The other day Kate's brother and his friend dropped by and the 4 of us sat around the table. The 3 of us conversed and Kate pretty much just sat there. That's one of the things I miss the most, just being able to have conversations. As far as it being normal. It's apparently normal for our 2. I guess it's just part of not being able to form thoughts in their heads... I guess.

Mine will respond to old music he use to know. From what I have been told the part of the brain that deals with music is the last to go. Xoxo. This is so hard.

When we get in the car my hubby usually falls asleep for 90% of the ride, or is quiet most of the time. Then on some rides he might chat. But when he falls asleep and his head is hanging down, I keep checking on him. Thankfully we have the GPS to help navigate, as hubby would not be able help. This dread disease is tough on the patient and the caregiver. Yesterday I just broke down at the Chiropractor’s office, but got hugs from the doctor and her receptionist. Made me feel a lot better.
