Not sure where your Mom is in the progression but new or stressful situations can cause all kinds of confusion, resulting in rather dangerous situations if there is no one to accompany your Mom who understands the situation. Could a friend or relative accompany her in traveling? And Dad1001 asks a good question. Do you have a plan for the future? I moved my Mom in with my husband and I for many years. I would be happy to talk through the pros and cons of that if you need someone to talk with.

I think her flying would work like with children, where you let the airlines know they need someone to keep track of them at either end of the flight. Unless she gets terribly confused, it could work out really well/sam

I would not let her fly alone. My husband is in the early stages and he gets so confused going into a small store. Anytime he is in a crowd he becomes overwhelmed.

I have a child with CP and he flys all over. If the person whom takes your mother to airport they can tell them at check in the situation and can take them to the gate and wait until they are on the plane. You can go to check in at your airport and tell them the same. They will allow you to go to the gate and be there when she gets off. I do recommend non-stop flight.
