Whittier, CA

I was wondering if those on our team that live in the general vicinity of each other would like to meet up for coffee or lunch? I know it isn't easy being we are mostly all the caregivers for our LOs. But if we had enough notice we might b able to work it out. How many would be interested? I think it wld b helpful. Thanks to everybody in advance.

Members warmly responded to a question about organizing local meetups for caregivers, with several expressing genuine interest despite geographical challenges spanning the US, Canada, and Australia. Many community members described the emotional longing to connect face-to-face with others who truly understand the caregiving experience, with some already participating in local support groups and others eager to coordinate despite distance or being new to their areas. A recurring theme was the deep desire for in-person connection and mutual understanding, paired with the practical reality that distance and caregiving responsibilities make such meetups difficult but not impossible to arrange.

Oh dear, how very sad for you........not really much that you can do except what you are. Be there for him as you are. Hold his hand, stroke his face. Talk to him about nice memories even if he doesnt recall he will hear a loving voice and this he will know. Some say to say its okay if you want to go....that you will be okay......but this is a decision that is so individual. My prayers are with you. hugs

My father is in care with Alzhiemers,I used to be able to take my father jelly babies and chocolate for treats which he really enjoyed, now I am not allowed to as he can only eat soft foods.most of the time he is sleepy ,I go at meal times to help feed him.He is only eating 2-3 tablespoons of food per meal and then falls a sleep. Is it getting to the end now,I wish someone could advise me.
