What Problems Does One Have When You Start Moving Your SO Into An Assisted Living Facility?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

I have started the process of moving my wife into the Chelsea at Clifton (https://www.chelseaseniorliving.com/locations/t...), which is one block away from where we live. It is a two-bedroom apartment with one other person living there, whom we have not met. What suggestions do you have for making this go smoothly? How do I handle her objections and possible emotional resistance? How do I handle my emotions reactions and loss? I have been taking care of her here for four years now. We have… read more

This isn't a question, but today I'm reading about Caregiver Stress, and the Q&A Section seems like the best place to share information.

Have You Disposed Of Things Your Loved One No Longer Needs?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My husband has so many tools, clothes and things from his active life that no longer apply to his end-of-life journey. I included his hiking boots in a bag going out to the bin this morning when I saw them in the garage and my heart just broke. They were far too worn to donate and far too painful to keep around. Oh, all those wonderful hikes we took together, even to the top of the highest peak in AZ. I’m not sure how you all have done this, but hopefully I’ll have the strength to carry on.
