I'm also wondering if this really is "normal" for dementia. All of my dementia information says that people with this disease will sometimes not make sense. However, he is not making sense all of the time. He's seeing things that aren't there and making up words. Just curious as to if anyone else is dealing with this or is this really out of the ordinary. Thanks!
Does it hurt to take this medication in the morning instead of evening, in my situation it is easier to give with breakfast.
We are pretty early in my husband’s diagnosis. We both have career backgrounds in medicine. He will talk about there being no cure for Alzheimer’s, but still talks about the doctor fixing it. I have tried to discuss a little of what might be coming, I know that somewhere he knows. He doesn’t retain that so I have been saying it progresses differently for everyone. Do any of you have a family member on Donepezil 5mg? How has it worked to help Dementia / Alzheimer's?
My mother is in early stages of Alzheimer's, she is currently on Aricept 10mg daily. Her neurologist took her off her Namenda because we saw no improvement within the first month. I hear there is a 23mg Aricept but it frequently causes GI upset. I wondered if anyone has any experience with that dosage? And if anyone has any other suggestions i would greatly appreciate it. My mums limbs twitch and jump when she is dosing during the day.
I need a little help with an insurance question. My mothers has Alzheimer and is taking Namaric 28-10 mg and Mirtazapine 15mg. My father could not cope and isn't in the picture. I am her caregiver. I have a power of attorney. She is separated from my dad, but not legally because the State of Texas doesn't recognize separation. Each has decided not to persue a divorce.
