I just started taking 5mg 6 weeks ago without any side effects

Doctor just prescribed moving up to 10mg for the next 6 weeks

Dad start taking Aricept5 mg was increased from to 10mg and the diarrhea came back . Any suggests to control the diarrhea?

My husband refuses to identify with his diagnosis of MCI. Went one time to the neurologist completed the neuropsych testing and now he refuses to go back. I was hoping he would go on aricept. My neurologist says all that we can do is send him to his family doctor. Family doctor said he would see him but we couldn’t expect him to take the medication. How knowledgeable just the family doctor need to be in prescribing?

My husband was put on Aricept in 2020 and awhile after that Namenda was added. I am wondering because of what I have read, has it outlived its usefulness? He did well for about 4 years and now not so much. He constantly is delusional and has hallucinations of all types. I've heard they can at times increase that, although I'm not sure that's the cause as he was ok for years. Any thoughts?

Moms been complaining of upset stomach for about a week now. Shes been on aricept for a little over a month. Just last week her dose went up to 10mg. I'm wondering if this could be the cause. I haven't had a chance to read the side affects. She hasn't eaten a whole lot besides soup. Was gonna give a call to the doc, but thought I'd ask of anyone else had experienced this.

Donepezil was prescribed for my husband who is in early stage AD. We started with 5 mg. and after 6 months increased it to 10mg. He took it at bedtime and never had an adverse reaction. With the increase to 10mg. he experienced nightmares and diarrhea. The doc said to stop all and start over with 5 for a month and take it in the morning. Now, it is time to increase it again but I'm not sure if that is a good idea. Anyone else have this problem with 10mg ?

What do most Doctors recommend? Do they keep them in these drugs till the end. I don’t see why.

When my husband is out of sorts, I think okay, this really is happening. But sometimes (a lot here lately), I wonder could this all be a mistake? Could something else have been going on 6months ago and now it’s over? My husband has been on Aricept for about 5 or 6 months and since July 2nd on the highest dosage. Does he really need it anymore?
