Any mention of going out of the house or a doctor got angry responses. She said she was to sick to go anywhere then phrases were “then you need to go to a doctor” and her response was I do not there is nothing wrong with me. What an incredible journey you've been on to get your mother the care she needs — your persistence clearly comes from a place of deep love. That's no small thing.

The denture implant question is such a specific and practical concern, and it's completely valid to worry about exposed implant posts if she removes her dentures. While direct experiences from myALZteam members on implant-supported dentures aren't available here, there are some important things worth discussing with her dental and medical team:

- Exposed implant posts can cause gum irritation or soreness if dentures are left out for extended periods
- Moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's can make it harder for someone to communicate pain or discomfort, so regular mouth checks would be essential
- A dentist experienced with memory care patients would be the best person to assess whether implants are appropriate given her stage
- Occupational therapists who specialize in Alzheimer's care sometimes have strategies for managing resistance to wearing dental appliances

It may also be worth asking her dental team about the snap-on mechanism strength — some can be adjusted to require more effort to remove, which might help.

The concern about her figuring out how to unsnap them is very real and worth raising directly with her dentist before proceeding. Her comfort and safety should guide that decision together with her care team.
