Hi @A myALZteam Member! My mom uses Poise extra absorbent (8th level/strength) night time pads with the wide part in the front during the day. At night she wears night time Depends. She keeps a towel on the floor in front of the toilet because that's where most of the mess occurs as she is "almost there" when everything breaks loose. We keep a bag of extra pants in the car with all the essentials for accidents when we are out and about. I try to limit Mom's water intake at night to make the process less messy in the morning. It's embarrassing for her, so I try to keep the clean up as quiet and quick as possible.

Managing incontinence is a common challenge with Alzheimer's, and having the right supplies on hand can make a big difference. Here are some helpful items to consider:

- Disposable absorbent underwear (like Depends) — designed to handle accidents discreetly and comfortably
- Incontinence pads — can be used as extra protection inside regular underwear
- Disposable gloves and wipes — for easy, hygienic cleanup
- Floor/bed pads — protect surfaces from accidents
- Zinc oxide barrier cream — helps protect skin from irritation caused by moisture
- Trash bags — keeping a small supply nearby makes cleanup quicker

Many myALZteam members keep a ready-made bag stocked with these essentials so they're always prepared. One important tip — check and change absorbent underwear regularly. Staying in wet or soiled underwear too long can cause painful skin irritation. When cleaning up, gently cleanse the skin, pat it completely dry, and apply a barrier cream to protect it.

It's also worth speaking with a healthcare provider, as they may have additional product recommendations suited to specific needs.
