Hi everyone, my name is Nikki and I am from Ohio. I have a father that is 87 years old that has either Alzheimer’s or dementia or both, I’m not sure? My dad is very stubborn and refuses to go to a neurologist or family doctor and get diagnosed. My father major in biology and taught science and he just feels like he can diagnose himself. Hi. While I am just diagnosed and am not as old as he is (I am 74+) I do understand.
Rather than saying about his teaching many years ago, there are other things you might try. For example no matter the age, the tests we have and the information we give helps doctors, scientists, researchers and more.
While he can say what you have above he can read etc.
My brother is 80 and a pathologist who did breast cancer research. I haven’t said anything about me. But I dare say he might agree with your dad Or even say tests are wrong or useless or such.
