I am sorry that I only turn to myALZteam when I am in particular need -- I have not been engaged sufficiently to provide support to others.

My wife just had her first incident of incontinence. This was just a bit of daytime urine leakage. I don't know whether this is the beginning of a pattern, but I know that full incontinence will be on its way at some point, so I want to have supplies on hand. @A myALZteam Member: Make sure your mattress is covered with a waterproof mattress pad ASAP. You want to PREVENT a urine-soaked mattress from ever happening! For comfort, I put a regular mattress pad on top of the waterproof one. Washable, reusable pads on her side of the bed are good too. Buy and use detergents that are marked for odor removal, so everything doesn’t gradually start to smell like urine.

Also if Loved One has a favorite chair they always sit in or in wheelchair put disposable pad on it...extra protection when the time comes...also white vinegar diluted with water gets rid of urine smells on clothing, carpets, furniture, laundry...

My mom used depends and put a pad inside them for extra protection. We used a waterproof mattress cover with a disposable pad on top of the sheets. Hubs has only needed the underwear on a few occasions so far.

We are not at that stage so far🙏 only 1-2 accidents but I had gotten waterproof mattress protectors disposable pads and depends already...my motto is be prepared...good luck to us....

You should check into hospice respid care. If she qualified they will supply everything you need and show you how the best way is to change her and bedding . They have been a godsend to me and Medicare covers everything
