@A myALZteam Member: There’s a point in the progression where the technology just becomes too difficult to handle.
I recently cancelled the service on my husband’s phone, because he couldn’t remember how to call anyone any more; he couldn’t keep the phone charged; then he lost the charger; and of course it was a constant hunt for the phone itself. I didn’t take the phone from him, though. After a while he stopped carrying it around. Now he has a very “dead” phone just sitting on his nightstand. But it’s his.
My husband got to the point he could not and would not use his because he confused and agitated him
He kept it but only played solitaire on it and then only by hitting all the cards till they moved. He wasnt following the game. If she likes carrying it, it probably doesn't matter if it works. I would get her some type of trackerk or emergency alert bracelet. The tile or apple.trackers are good and they dont even have to know they are wearing them.
Thank you. I don’t know why she doesn’t use it. I was thinking of having it disconnected. She looks at mine sometimes but doesn’t try to use it.
Has your daughter stopped using her phone because it's too confusing, or has she lost interest entirely?
Several myALZteam members have found specialized phones helpful when standard phones become difficult to use. There are phones designed specifically for people with memory loss that can make staying connected easier.
