Oh, God, yes. Both my grandmother and my mother talked relentlessly in the latter stages of their disease and none of it made any sense at all. We had no idea what they were talking about. It can be exhausting. I became adept at filtering out certain sounds!
Yes, I often pretend to listen but after awhile I end up tuning him out. Luckily, so far, at night, when we get ready for bed, I conveniently have to go check the locks or whatever. Whenever I get back a few minutes later, he’s dozing off. Thanks for sharing your experience.
My husband talks almost constantly. I can ignore it for a while but when I do something that requires concentration or at night when trying to sleep I feel like I am loosing my mind! I have begun a bedtime routine where we go to bed at the same time and I always say the same thing, "I love you, good night!" Often more than once because he forgets. It helps.
