Has any one tried medical marajuana to calm Sundowners. Our neurologist suggested it and authorized. Might help appetite as well.
I have found that melatonin does help with sundowning I was forced out Every night because his wife was coming. I am his wife and after an hour or so I returned and he wanted to know where l had been. He was normal after that I did some research on melatonin and started with 5 mg at 4:00 and 5mg at 8:30 After two days the sundowning stopped and he has stopped roaming and no more confusion He has been free of sundowning for 36 days and I am charting his behavior everyday Do some research on the internet . I discussed this with his Dr and she said she was not aware and was very interested in trying it on her patients It is a trial in progress Best wishes
I tried melatonin first but it did nothing for him.
CBD seems to be helping.
I give my husband CBD capsules at dinner time. He's a little better not as anxious & agitated. The name of the company I use is Charlotte's Web. It was the only company I could find that sells capsules. So far is seems to be helping with his sundowning. His Dr. approved it for him. If he's calm I'm calm.
I give my husband Melatonin at nite for sleep most times works like a charm I have been taking it for years for sleep
I’ve been giving my husband CBD plus THC for awhile now. I think it helps. I’d been giving it to him later in the day to help with sundowning. Yesterday he was getting very agitatated early in the afternoon. He doesn’t get up until almost noon. I gave him his regular dose and the rest of the day went well. I give it to him in an oil form with a dropper and tell him it’s for his knee pain.
