@Sundowning , you can try it as it wont hurt. Our APRN suggested adding a couple of Tylenol at bed time to take a little extra edge off. My husband take Trazadone 50mg and melatonin as sleep aids.

I always turn on the lights around 5 p.m. or earlier in the fall/winter. This helps my hubby with sundowning, which was really bad before. It seems to kind of trick the mind. I read it on an Alzheimer's website.

The doctor has approved melatonin but only when hubby has trouble falling asleep.

As far as I know, Tylenol doesn’t help sundowning at all. My wife suffers from Sundowning; I give her a low dosage (prescription) pill - Lorazepam - around 3 PM to keep her calm enough to eat her dinner. I do not think that acetiminophine would be as effective.
