My husband has frontal lobe issues, And asa result is quite impulsive. He also now takes Aricept and citalopram. The signal I picked up from the geriatrician was NO alcohol so I changed gradually to nonalcoholic brews. Because of our situation I sourced na beer and wine which had familiar packaging/branding and bought a wine carrier that Nev can pack and carry for us.
As for funerals. For us it is the frontal lobe impulsivity/lack of judgement issue. I play it by ear. If he is having a calm streak and , because of his short term issues, Is not too distressed, we do go to some funerals together. We go for the shortest time, offer our condolences and then go home. Other ALZ sufferers would handle social situations differently.
