Hints To Handle Sundowning?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Last night, for the first time my husband was sundowning and it was alarming! Need help in calming him down or something to distract him. He tells everyone he is not interested in anything! Period!

Dr gave my husband meds for sun downing. Very small amount but helped with the anxiety. Very afraid of the dark

I agree about using CBD for sundowning. I give my husband 1/2 gummy CBD in the morning and 1/2 gummy around 3pm. I get the lowest mg. This has helped so much.

I let my mom sort of vent for a couple of minutes then switch to putting on music she loves a and singing with her, or looking through old photo albums and letting her tell her version of them.

Please talk to his dr asap....there are Rx meds to decrease the common sundowning confusion and agitation but some folks have had good results with CBD oil for calming

Also I find when mom has been exercising, low impact easy ones, physical therapy for leg and arms, she has better evenings and falls asleep better. Routine, Routine, Routine. I made a binder with pretty colorful paper that has Mom''s Daily Routine and other helpful notes that I add to and update. Sometimes I put loving notes that are disguised directives on her bathroom mirror.
