She lives in a secured memory unit but is in a rehabilitation unit right now for mobility. The nurses said she yells most of the night, throws things when they come in the room, and refuses physical therapy. She says she is in terrible pain, but the nurse touches the places that mom claims hurt her when mom is not watching and no reaction what so ever. Doctor should be involved in this and give her something to calm her down.

Delirium cam come from hospital stays or anesthesia sometimes it slowly gets better.

My mom had a hernia that needed repair. General anesthesia. Afterward she was not herself. She grabbed some cords attached to her bed and acted as though she was going to hit a doctor with it. Her behavior was bizarre for about three months afterward. I read an article about the effects of general anesthesia on the elderly. It’s just not a good idea if you can avoid it.
