My Mom's Constant Talking With Alzheimers
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

My mom's alzheimers is getting worse and lately when I visit and give my dad a break she keeps talking and talking repeating the same thing over and over again. She won't stop talking. I am really trying to be patient but its so difficult to deal with. Any advise on what to do?

I care for my husband alone. He talks most of the time and its the same thing. I try to make a game out of the repeatedness and see how many different ways i can answer the questions. If its the same ole questions write them down with the answeres. I find that this helps. He calls his brother and its the same conversation. Just be paitent

Have you considered purchasing a Siri, or similar? Siri may be able to answer your mum, giving you and your dad a little respite.... take care x

My wife does the pacing after dusk which some referred to as sundowners
She also talks to the TV all day and lately starts crying at things on TV that aren't sad

thank you for the response. My hubby can still get around and go outside and do yardwork. How he can with all the severe health issues i dont know. So when he isnt outside he watches tv all the time and he loves to clean. I get him to play cards and he enjoys that but then during a game i noticed him zoning out and he forgot what he was doing. Breaks my heart. I take care of him by myself. He has older children but they are too busy. The have started coming around more often butits like every other month. That is so funny about you doing exerceses with him. you are doing a good job
