How Can I Get My Mum To Do The Basic Hygiene? Such As Teeth Brushing, Flushing, Hand Washing?

She always tells me She knows how to go to the loo, and YET! She won't pull her trousers down enough so getting through several pairs daily. I'm physically disabled myself and have other health issues wihich are affected by stress. Not had a break in almost 9 years ( apart from 3 weeks in hospital in ICU)

Judy, good morning, and welcome. Well, if you haven’t already mobilised help, perhaps now is the time to do so. Incompetence in the bathroom is common and sadly often a forerunner of more serious problems down the track. It took me a couple of months of work and cleaning up and talking and frankly losing my rag to get access to to bathroom to help my wife, Jackie. I think Know Dementia operate in your area and they are good people. Worth a call because even if they don’t work as far west as you they will probably have some pointers for you. tel:(Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators). Best wishes.
