Sudden Loss Of Memory
My husband is suffering from MCI but it has progressed. Two weeks ago he may have had problems knowing what day it was or what we were going to do that day but nothing too concerning. Within the past two days he wants to go home (he is home), he doesn't recognize the rooms in the house although he says his other house has the same floor plan. @A myALZteam Member. I don't know how fast MCI (mild cognitive impairment) progresses. But if there is dehydration and/or a UTI (urinary tract infection) there can be real confusion. Those would be the 2 things I would look into . You don't want to play with either of these. Start pushing fluids....not coffee! and get him to see Dr.

I agree with @A myALZteam Member. Rule out any medical issues as she has advised. Sudden changes in cognition are unusual and need to be investigated first. Also, look at any recent changes in medications. XO
I find with my mom that she is steady for months even years at a time then there is a shift to a new normal and by normal I mean a downward progression.. My mom has had dementia for 10 years now
