My husband was diagnosed with vascular dementia! Then they went on to say he has Parkinson Lewy Body Dementia. I don't know where we're truly at! He had serious 9 Hour surgery a year ago and I think that made the dementia progress!
My brother was initially diagnosed with early onset frontotemporal dementia but has now been diagnosed with Logopenic variant Alzheimer's. He is 59 now. His speech is disappearing very quickly and is no longer able to write. It is so sad watching a loved one fading away!
Yes I have heard of many being diagnosed incorrectly. My husband is being re evaluated next week but weather or not it is Alzheimers or dementia I could not have gotten this far without the support I have recived here. I know there is a difference between the different types of ALZ and dementia but they are so similar it's hard to see the difference. Have they change meds etc with finding out she has vascular dementia? Hugs to you and hope mom is doing the best she can
Yes. Jim. Is the same. And it's hard to see This. But relax. And enjoy his good moments
