Has Anyone A Tracking App On Their Iphone?
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

Sue, Apr 22, 09:39 PDT

My mum has the onset of dementia and I would like to add a tracking app on her phone just in case the worse happens and she is unsure of where she is - has anyone got an app that they can recommend that's 100% worth getting? Thanks

I feel this is of great importance just in case such time arrives that one receives a phone call and is lost - I would really appreciate some feedback - thanks in advance.

Sue

Thank. This will help. Jim forgot how to use his cell. Now it hard for him to talk. He don't drive. Any more thank god. I was worried that he would hit and hurt someone. The DMV. Took his license. And I took his keys. He got up set at first. He love his car. I told him l love him and we don't want him to hurt anyone by accident. I said do you want to hurt. Someone. Or kill them. He said no. And that made it better. I take him for long rides in his car. That also help

I can recommend 2 devices which are available on Ebay. The first is the Doro 820 Mini mobile phone specifically designed for people with dementia. It is very simple to operate and the big plus it has is an emergency call button on the rear of the phone. When this button is pressed the phone automatically dials 3 numbers in succession continuously until the call is answered. Also you can download an app which will show you on a map the location of the Doro. This is a very inexpensive mobile at around £50.

The other device is a T58 GPS Tracker watch. This one is even more basic but has a host of features. There are 2 buttons on it. The top button switches the device on and the lower one makes or accepts a call to/from a list of allowed numbers. An app is installed on those mobiles which have access to the device and these can track the location of the T58 on a map. These are available on Ebay for around £25.

If you have an I phone you can follow her thru your text message but she has to have the phone with her if I'm correct you text her phone than go to her phone and agree to follow me and as long as she doesn't delete your message you can follow her the icon on your phone would show up as FIND FREINDS

My husband has a wrist band tracker which is supplied by the ALZ association in our community. If he should wander off and get lost. I can call the police dept. and they can track him. This wonderful program is called Lifesaver and this has taken a lot of stress off of me if he should go missing. And he likes to leave but only goes a block away but comes back. I can see him from my front porch.
