How Do I Cope With My Wife's Paranoia?

A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭
Gahanna, OH

My wife will do something and then forget she has done it and blame me for whatever as done. For example, our dishwasher is broken and my wife forgets that and puts dirty dishes in to the dishwasher. When she finds the dirty dishes she asks me why did I put my dirty dishes in the broken dishwasher? That makes me angry and I know I shouldn't get angry because she can not help heer behavior.

Stop the anger.
Write a note and put it on the dishwasher. Get it fixed.

Love yourself and her through.

As a former teacher, this was most difficult to deal with. I now see my husband as a toddler that cannot learn. His sister was a former special education teacher and she has helped me to realize these limitations. It will not get better and there is no point arguing. Makes you feel a little like a stepped on rug, but it is easier than trying to change the behavior.

I would just say oops I forgot and move on. Arguing about who did will get you know where, in her mind she is right and that's it. I found trying to point out the things that my MIL did wrong just gave me stress. I hope this helps HUGS to you both
