What Do You Do When They Wont Talk She Just Says Unha To Everything

She was never a big talker but we are between stages 4 and 5 we say unha all the time. I don't even know what to say anymore. Its like talking to a deaf person.

@A myALZteam Member, I like your answer. You might take it one step farther if you don't mind feeling a bit silly. Try sining what you want to say - you might be surprised at the response. I have found myself just singing more frequently and it seems to raise my RAC's mood - and mine. I attended a workshop recently and this was addressed. We were told that your loved one knows and loves your voice - even if you are not a star singer! Just have fun!

Whenever my roommate get like that, I turn on some Elvis or Italian Opera that he used to sing. It picks up his mood. I also make sure I just ask questions that require him to answer yes or no.

I don't really try to carry on a conversation much with my husband. He gives short, repetitive answers and never was a big talker. He doesn't remember things he or I have said so it's not worth the hastle. Just give what answers you can and go from there.
