If you don’t laugh you will cry!!
The key phrase in your statement is “what gets me mad”. They don’t really know what they are saying. Try to appreciate the occasional humor. Last week my wife went to lunch with her friend. I picked her up about an hour later. In the car she said “I am starving, I haven’t eaten anything all day”.
Actually, I made her avocado toast for breakfast. I said to her you just had lunch with your friend. She said “we didn’t eat anything”. The take home box was on her lap!! She didn’t think she ate but it was difficult for her to ignore the evidence!! It was very funny to me!!
Hi Renee! My mom loves to argue, and she likes to make me "wrong". She also throws me under the bus with friends and my sisters, telling them what I do that makes no sense or that I am controlling. What gets me mad is when she blames me for not telling her things and keeping her informed. Ugh! I am trying to say, "Well, I'm telling you now, sorry!" I have learned this is just a part of how the disease is changing her. I try to be humble and not bothered by letting her "win". Fortunately, my family and friends are aware of her diagnosis and they know who to believe!
So true, Phillip! My mom says that all the time! "I've had nothing to eat all day" and I have fed her at least once or twice! I watched my mom fill her plate twice and eat 2 cupcakes at a party yesterday and say, "I eat very little, Lisa, you keep forgetting". I wanted to bust out laughing so bad!
Blessings! Wish there was a magic word that made herself as she was. Poor soul!
