Need Help Understanding His Behavior
A myALZteam Member asked a question 💭

DH screams and is furious all morning, then calms down and repeats the same 10 or so stories all afternnoon. When does this stop and what comes next? Thanks

Thank you for sharing, Miko. This disease is horrible. My husband is on the maximum dosage of several medications. I just want to try and keep him calm and happy throughout the progression of the illness. I'm so grateful to have this group to communicate with. No one understands like others going through the same things

Your neurologist should determine the type of dementia, and medicate to calm this behavior, ASAP. YOU need to keep safe...he COULD get physical with YOU!

this illness is getting harder and harder by the day. I love my husband so much. I just wish I could have him back. I know you love your husband just as much. God bless you

My husband is angry when he wakes up in the morning and takes shower .. he screams and hitting his own legs , he can not understand why he has to wear pull ups and why it is so wet and maybe why he can not control it … he can not express , so this is just my guess.
Also in the morning , his medication is all gone too.. then in his breakfast he takes medication to calm him down and for delusion , he is usually better till later afternoon. His doctor adjusted his anti anxiety and antipsycotic medications but still about the same .
His NP told me nothing can remove those symptoms completely. I gave up .. I will just deal with it now … every episode does not last long .
When I can not take it any more , i will
ask doctor to give him some stronger meds.(norcotic ones)
My answer may not help you much .
Hope you can find the right medication
