You should activate hospice. They will assist with medication issues.

Your Dr is the one to ask. The drugs you mention, IMO, are for early to mid stage, to slow the progress. Some drugs should not be discontinued abruptly. ..some can be titrated off gradually.

My mom's doctor took her off of Aricept once it stopped having any affect. She was in the third stage of Alzheimer's.

Ellen, I think this would be a good question to ask your doctor or talk with the Hospice nurse if you are using Hospice. Sometimes there is a problem when you just pull them off of certain drugs. My husband is in the end stages also and I find this most difficult. May God be with you. ✝️

My hubby is on both those medications. At this time, I feel that it is helping him. He's in the moderate phase. I do know that at one point, I will find it pointless to continue giving them to him. When I recognize that time, I'm going to stop.
