How To Tell What Stage Of Dementia Someone Is In?
A myALZteam Member asked a question đź’

My husband is diagnosed as having dementia. He is up and down but very slow in movement. Doesn't have any memory -short or long term. He enjoys listening to music. Doesn't communicate well and seems bored. I take him for rides and have tried all sorts of hands on games and puzzles. Just at a loss.

Personally, I think this website has the very best explanation of the 7 Stages.
If you look carefully, I'm sure you'll be able to see what stage he's in.

My mom is considered at the high end of mid…she mirrors your husband’s status…
She enjoys watching musicals, will sing along to numbers, tv game shows but has no interest in magazines or newspapers. She also has aphasia…when she attempts to speak she is incoherent…and this is frustrating for her. I wish I could be more helpful. The hard part is that there is so little that a caregiver can do…I try to always remain patient, courageous and companionate … and sometimes that is hard. Hugs to you.
