Does Anyone Use Adaptive Silverware For Their Loved One?
Thanks.
Thanks. Hope you are doing Ok
I tried the adaptive silverware for my husband but it seemed he could not manipulate them very well so I just let him eat with the biggest fork that is with our silverware. @A myALZteam Member he didn’t stay at that stage very long either. I have been spoon feeding him almost a year now.
Thanks. Hope you are doing ok
I bought these for my wife when her eating started to get difficult. The big handles gave her something substantial to hold onto and the high banked plate gave her something to pull her food toward as she was trying to scoop it into her spoon.
Unfortunately it only bought us a week or two. She was on a very fast pace and major changes seemed to come weekly. Many of the things I tried were probably not worth the effort but that is only in hindsight.
Shortly after this period, she was ‘chipmunking’ her food in her cheeks and then we went to a puréed diet. But like I said, she was on a pretty fast pace.
