How Do I Keep My Mourth Shut When Husband Makes Mean Comments To Me Often?
Three years ago my dear husband was in the phase of this terrible disease - calling me horrible names & yelling at me. So very painful to have to bear this tirade… Now he is more confused and back to being very sweet & loving - telling me that he loves me all the time.
So, hang in there!
We get used to one phase & then another one comes along!
I pray for strength and patience- each day is a new challenge…
My best wishes to you as well’
This must be very difficult. My husband doesn't act meanly too often. A response in kind usually leaves the caregiver feeling guilty. If you can try leaving room and counting or praying, etc. You both will feel better probably. Separation can be a great tool. I don't know if this is the case with your husband, but my husband can be unkind at night when he's tired out. The next day he's totally forgotten it. Recently my husband said he never wanted to see me again - not one more single day. I teased him the next day but he had no recall of it at all. Good luck!
Wish I had some words of wisdom. I am a bit too reactionary. I try to ignore mine, but it is tough. I just have to keep reminding myself that he can’t control his actions anymore, but I can.
