Does Anyone Else Have Issues With Their Loved One Being Super Itchy?

I have tried everything from diet change to lotions for itchy skin to powders for itchy skin and laundry detergent for sensitive skin. Mom is scratching her skin raw and sometimes until it's bleeding. When I rub her back she says, oh that feels so good.. I'm sure it does, but she wants me to scratch it too.. With being 89 her skin is thin so it doesn't take much to tear it with scratching. Her mind is to the point she doesn't even know she scratching.. Anyone else have issues with this? My mom had the same issues…my doctor recommended Eucerin and Aveeno 1Hydrocortisone cream…it helped but I also tho k the itching stopped on its own. Wish I could be more helpful.

Hubby did have an issue with eczema for a few months, on his tummy area. I got the eczema lotion (OTC) at the pharmacy and instructed him to use it on his body at bedtime. Eventually it went away on its own. But I see those commercials for eczema on TV and wonder if your mother may benefit from one of those treatments? Something to ask your doc about, I am sure.
